Allah Nazar Ihsan was born in Afghanistan and raised here in the UK's Thames Valley, where he still lives and runs HomeGo today. His journey into UK removals started as a crew member on the road, working long days for an established firm in the region and learning the trade from the back of a Luton van.
He watched the same problems repeat on job after job. Customers were quoted one price and charged another after the van was loaded. Families promised a large van would arrive to find a smaller one — or a two-van booking quietly downgraded to one, with traffic jams and 'breakdowns' used as excuses that forced expensive double trips. Extra charges appeared for long walks, for crew standing time when property keys ran late, and for VAT stacked on top of the agreed figure — turning a £399 one-bed flat quote into something considerably dearer by the final invoice.
Behind the scenes it was worse. Crews were paid rough cash-in-hand, often underpaid, with no professional training, no DBS checks and no structured Health & Safety rules. One day Allah stood up for a customer who was being blackmailed for extra money halfway through a move. He spoke directly to the manager on the customer's behalf. He was fired the same week.
