Furniture Assembly in Maidenhead — IKEA, John Lewis, Made.com & The Brands Our SL6 Crew Knows Cold
Furniture assembly service in Maidenhead SL6. IKEA, John Lewis, Made.com, Loaf, Habitat — our branch crew assembles to brand spec, free as part of any move, or as a standalone same-day service.
Furniture assembly is included free of charge with every Maidenhead move — we dismantle at your old property and reassemble at your new one. But we also run standalone same-day assembly jobs for SL6 customers who've bought new flat-pack and don't want to spend a Saturday with an Allen key. Here's the breakdown.
What's included free with a HomeGo move
Every move from our Maidenhead branch includes free dismantle-and-reassemble of: beds (including ottoman-style bed-bases and divan bases with drawers), wardrobes (including PAX systems), dining tables, bookcases, sofa modules, cot beds, desks, sit-stand desk frames, and bedside cabinets. No-hour-limit — we stay until everything is rebuilt.
Brands our crew knows cold
- IKEA — PAX wardrobes, MALM beds, KALLAX shelving, BESTÅ media units, BILLY bookcases. We bring the right hex-keys, the right cam-locks, and we know which screws IKEA always under-supplies (it's the small black wood-screws for the back panels).
- John Lewis — house brands (Anyday, Bryant) and the major-brand stocked ranges. Often genuinely easier than IKEA because John Lewis instructions are clearer.
- Made.com — pre-administration stock plus the Next-acquired re-launched lines. Made.com beds notoriously have non-standard slat sizes — we carry spares.
- Loaf — Eclectic squashy sofas, mostly designed to come apart for delivery up tight staircases. We know which models split where.
- Habitat — typically the simpler builds, but Habitat's mid-tier ranges (Penny, Coen) need a specific 4mm hex key that always seems to be missing.
- Dunelm, Argos Home, Wayfair — generic flat-pack covered.
Standalone same-day assembly
If you've moved into a Maidenhead property and just bought new furniture, we run same-day standalone assembly jobs from £85 (one piece, e.g. an IKEA PAX wardrobe with 3 doors) up to £280 for a whole new bedroom + lounge. Call before 10am for same-day SL6 availability.
Disassembly for storage
If you need to store a bed or wardrobe between moves, we'll dismantle, label every part, bag every screw separately, and re-assemble at the other end. Bag-and-label is free — we don't lose screws and we don't ask you to.
The tools we carry
Hex keys 2mm–8mm, Pozidriv #1/#2/#3, Phillips #1/#2, Robertson square-drive, 10mm/13mm/17mm spanners, soft-faced mallet, spirit level. Battery-driven impact driver for the heavy stuff. Reset all torques to manufacturer-recommended (over-torquing is the most common DIY-assembly damage).
What we don't do
Wall-mounting TVs, hanging mirrors over 25kg, or anything requiring drilling into joists — these need a sparky or a fitter. We can refer you to a Maidenhead-based contractor we trust for those.

Frequently asked questions
Is furniture assembly really free with a move?
Yes — dismantle at the old property and reassemble at the new one, no hour limit, no add-on. Standard with every HomeGo Maidenhead move.
Do you assemble new flat-pack as a standalone service?
Yes — same-day Maidenhead bookings welcome. £85 for one piece (e.g. IKEA PAX wardrobe), £180–£280 for a whole bedroom or lounge.
Will you handle IKEA-PAX wardrobe builds?
Daily — PAX is bread-and-butter for our crew. We bring the spare screws IKEA tends to under-supply and we can typically build a 3-door PAX in 90 minutes.
Can you assemble Made.com or Loaf items?
Yes — we know the Made.com slat-size quirks and the Loaf sofa split-points. Both are regular weekly assemblies for us.
What about wall-mounting TVs?
No — we don't drill into walls. We can refer you to a Maidenhead-based contractor we trust for TV wall-mounting and shelf installation.
